Well, I am back from Maine and the wedding was awesome. I didn’t want to come back and I was ready to cash it all in and become a lobsterman. Over the next few days I’ll post pictures from the area where we were. This photo was taken on our last night. The stars up there were incredible. You could even see the Milky Way it was so clear. We dove into the bay off of the dock at 1am (because you just had to). The water was a sheet of glass that reflected the entire sky full of stars. It was like diving into space (if space was 64 degree water) (not that cold compared to winter surfing). Anyway, this photo was taken over 54 minutes. I was shooting for a full hour of exposure but I became impatient. The photo also took an addition 30 minutes to record to the card after the shutter closed; this is even with SanDisk Extreme IV cards. I don’t have a cable release so in order to keep the shutter button pressed I used one of those rubber bands that they use to put over lobster claws. (thanks Tom for the rubber band suggestion.)
